Andrés Iniesta debuted in Barcelona in October 2002. But, it was not until 2005 when the coach Frank Rijkaard started to have confidence with him. However, as it happened with Xavi Hernandez, it was with Pep Guardiola that Iniesta was a main character in the team.
The season 2008-09 changed everything. The Spanish national team won the Euro2008 and both Xavi and Iniesta performanced excellently. Then, with Pep in charge, they moved also brilliantly in Barça and they won the triplet. Iniesta had become in a leader. No need to shout, the team knew what he meant, and he leadered Barça with his magic touch of the ball.
As time passes, Iniesta became the first captain. Puyol left, Valdés left and Xavi left. But Iniesta was still there to mantain Barça's way of playing. He was not a strong and physical player, but Iniesta knew how to conserve the ball in order to manage the team. Messi was there, and both have a magic connection that moved Barcelona's fans mind to the best moments of Barça.
Since his goal in Stamford Bridge to his last exhibition in Copa del Rey final in 2018, passing thourgh his amazing goal in the World Cup 2010. Andrés Iniesta is a star in both Barça and the Spanish national team.
